Guild GAD-F40 Acoustic

January 31st, 2009 by Jack Rock

guildf40The Guild GAD-F40 acoustic guitar has an original grand orchestra-style, solid wood body designed after the 1955 F-40 Valencia body. With a sound that is balanced, resonant, and full of harmonics, it is a truly great guitar. The sound is complete with crisp highs, balanced mids, and smooth lows; however, some customers report that the original strings may need to be switched out, but after strings were changed, complete satisfaction was imminent. This guitar has good action with absolutely no string buzz. Features include a Valencia Grand Orchestra body style with a 16" lower bout, solid Sitka spruce top, solid flamed maple back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, one-piece mahogany neck, ebony bridge pins, wood binding, mother of pearl inlays, and tortoise shell pickguard. Colors available are blonde and black.

As with other Guild guitars, the GAD-F40 is built to play and is built to last. It is very comfortable to play, and if classic Dreadnought style bodies are a little too much for you to handle, then the GAD-F40 design may be easier for you to play. From an amateur to an artist, Guild guitars are well-suited for anyone. This guitar's MSRP is between $1500-$1700.

January 29th, 2009 by Jack Rock

guildThe Guild GAD-JF30 Jumbo acoustic guitar is unlike any other, combining fantastic bottom end, nice bass, pure bell-like highs, and a sustain that just won't quit.  Good and loud like any jumbo should be, but not excessive.  Sounds absolutely perfect right out of the box, but the setup action may be too high for some players.  The Guild GAD-JF30 is designed with the  jumbo maple body that Guild has used in their outstanding line since 1954.  The features on the Guild GAD-JF30 include solid flame maple sides and back, solid sitka spruce top with scalloped bracing, one-piece mahogany neck with dovetail neck joint, ebony fretboard and bridge, ebony pearl dot inlay bridge pins and strap buttons, pearl fingerboard inlays, tortoise shell pickguard, mahogany body bindings, bone nut and saddle, and Grover Rotomatic tuners that turn smoothly and look good too.

The Guild GAD-JF30 Jumbo acoustic guitar, like other Guilds, is made with quality, integrity, and durability in mind.  It is a large, beautiful, and clear sounding guitar that truly lives up to the Guild name.

Guild D50 Bluegrass Special Acoustic Guitar

January 27th, 2009 by Jack Rock

guildd50For the musician who wants the 1960's Guild in a bigger, dreadnought body, the Guild D50 Bluegrass Special acoustic guitar is the one for you.  It is the best sounding Guild dreadnought by far with great note articulation.  The Guild D50 Bluegrass Special acoustic guitar pleases both the flat-pick player and the finger-style player.  With a high gloss finish, this instrument features beautiful vintage-style details like a solid red spruce top, scalloped bracing, one-piece 20 fret mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, pearl dot inlays, solid rosewood back and sides, tortoise bindings, silver Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, and bone and nut saddle.

The Guild D50 Bluegrass Special acoustic guitar offers a long, deep, and rich sound.  Very balanced, very clear, and very loud.  It has that classic Guild boom, but now is complemented by a crisp high and thick middle.  The depth of the Guild D50 Bluegrass Special acoustic guitar is slimmer than the D55 and other Guild dreadnoughts, but allows for more comfortable playing.

With a no frills appearance, this guitar is the real deal.  Guilds are built to last.

Items shown below are for sale on eBay.

Guild Songbird Acoustic Electric Guitar | S4CE

January 27th, 2009 by Jack Rock

guildsongbirdThe Guild Songbird Acoustic Electric Guitar made from a chambored mahogany is an acoustic electric guitar that plays live and loud.  Unplugged this guitar plays with tons of volume and little tone.  The Guild Songbird needs to be played with a preamp to receive the most it has to offer.  With a spruce top and and small coils this guitar is perfect for a beginner or can be played a professional musician.

The pickup on this guitar is absolutely amazing the Fishman AGP2 system was specifically designed for the Guild Songbird Acoustic Electric Guitar and has absolutely amazing sound.  The bass, treble and volume controls are nice and close together for easy adjusting. The finish needs more maintenance from all the hand rubbing but is a necessity to keep this beauty beautiful.

It is a shame that Guild has stopped production of the Guild Songbird Acoustic Electric Guitar since it is loved by so many musicians.

The Songbird retailed for $600 and can still be found for around that much on eBay below.
