Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special Electric Guitar

February 4th, 2009 by Jack Rock

fender1The Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special Electric Guitar revives Fender's famous Jaguar model with some new improvements.   Great variety of sounds can be forged once controls have been mastered.  Neither a Tele nor a Strat here.  This guitar's sound is distinct and was designed with an intent to complement their sound.  Features include alder body, maple neck with new neck pocket cut to provide better pitch, rosewood fingerboard, trem plate moved closer to bridge to increase sustain and break angle, Adjusto-Matic bridge with floating tremolo tailpiece, two new special design Jaguar single-coil pickups offer a fuller tone, two on/off slide switches (one for each pickup), and Fender/Ping vintage-style tuning machines.

With a two humbucker setup, you can get a great jazz sound and still have a great crunch for rock.  Great stability and control when executing divebombs.  The guitar's quality and playability is definitely Fender, although the neck feels thicker in your hands, and the body is slightly heavier than other Fender models.  Even with these distinctions, this guitar feels remarkably nice to play and gives good high fret access.  If you appreciate the Fender line, but are looking for something different, then the Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special Electric Guitar is the right choice for you.

Guild GAD-G212 12-String Acoustic Guitar

February 4th, 2009 by Jack Rock

guild1This guitar has a sound equal to its beauty.  The Guild GAD-G212 12-string acoustic guitar has an exceptionally well-balanced, loud, warm, and bright voice with lots of articulation and no muddiness.  Factory set up is usually quite right, and the straight neck has no buzzes.  Very comfortable and easy to play.  The Guild GAD-G212 12-String Acoustic Guitar is appropriate for men, women or children to play, because it does not have the jumbo body like so many other 12-strings.  Features include solid spruce top, 12-string dreadnought style body, solid mahogany back and sides, unique 12-string bracing, one-piece mahogany neck, bone nut and saddle, dark mahogany body bindings, Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, special pearl inlays, dual truss rods, dovetail neck joint, and Grover Rotomatic mini tuners.  No short cuts were taken when designing this guitar.

This is probably one of the best 12-string guitars you will ever play.  Tonal quality is superb, and the bass notes project unlike any other.  The only downside is that if you have large fingertips, strings may need to be repositioned for you.  The GAD-G212 12-string Acoustic Guitar really blows away its competition.  The sound is remarkable.
